Hello PDF-Xchange team and community,
we bought and testet your PDF-XChange editor/tool. Its awesome. My plan ist to distribute it to everyone in the company with GPO and sepcific settings and tools.
But i have a problem and need help. monitoring wont work how imagined.
In the end of the Manual it says "The folder monitor will then be enabled each time you log in to your Windows account." Yes the Monitoring is active, but the tool is not working. To make monitoring/tool work i must at least one time manually activate the desired tool.
https://help.pdf-xchange.com/pdfxt ... ors_t.html
To make monitoring run reliable i must do exactly this:
1. start Windows
2. Start the shortcut for the desired monitoring entry or start it manually from PDF Tools
3. Start PDF tools
4. Start at least one time the specific tool (It is not possible to start just the shortcut because it will process only one time)
My goal would be more like:
1. Start Windows
2. Monitoring and tool processing is already running and working reliable
Kind regards,
Alper

Re: Folder Monitoring
Hi Alper,
we have just tested launch of folder monitor at windows start up. And it works as expected, the monitor is lauched and corresponding tool process input files. So I have couple of questions
Are you sure that you use right start up folder to place your shortcut? Run "shell:common startup", it will open file explorer in the desired folder. In my case it is C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\StartUp
What tool do you use for folder monitor? Maybe the issue is tool specific
Best Regards,

thanks for your quick reply.
in the startup is the shortcut "C:\Program Files\Tracker Software\PDF Tools\PDFXTools.exe" /RunFldMon "{9702FCFF-66DE-4FEE-A61A20F05DCF87FB}" and its working. When i open "PDF-Tools" i can see the status on "ON/Active". But the tool is not processing.
I use a self created tool which does simply "take word file from this folder, remove comments/links, save it in this folder as a regular pdf"
Kind regards,
Alper
