OCR only in Zones/Areas

Hello everybody,
is there a possibility of text recognition only in a certain area. I have a few thousand documents and just want to recognize a small image section and write it to a file.

Yes, Though it is a slightly hidden option. To accomplish this, use the "Snapshot" tool on the home tab, and drag a square around the desired area. After the snapshot is taken, you can right click on the "selection area" box, and you will see an option to "OCR region".

Thanks for your reply. Does this also work automatically with multiple files? Your suggestion seems to me to be good for individual pages but not for a workflow or do I overlook something?

No, this is a specifically targeted process, and must be done manually per region/page. We do not currently offer a tool to run OCR on the same manually defined region across multiple pages or files.
