We have just upgraded to the newest version of PDF X-Change and PDF-Tools.

In the preveous version I was able to merge pdf files but keep them grouped by filename as I moved them to the correct position.
In the new version this feature is not available anymore. Now everything is squished in one file.
I was also able to drag and drop files. This was way more convenient.

I have added screenshots to illustrate my issue.

In new version of PDF-Tools sorting step is moved to 'Choose Input Files' action. If you want to set the order of input documents in merged document you should use 'Show extended dialog for files selecting' option of 'Choose Input Files' action.
There you'll be able to add documents and arrange them as you want using Move up/Move down controls or Drag'n'Drop.

If you want to rearrange pages in merged document manually or just want to see resultant page order you can keep 'Show dialog for manual split/merge' option of 'Split/Merge Documents' action turned on.
In other casses, turn off 'Show dialog for manual split/merge' option and then merging step will be done silently for you.

Please, pay attention to 'Method' option of 'Split/Merge Documents' action. It could be helpfull for you in other Split/Merge scenarios.
