What Sysadmins want.

Build 316 of the PDF-XChange Editor introduced the ability to use .admx and .adml files to manage it's features through applying Group Policies. See this KB article for usage: https://www.pdf-xchange.com/knowledgebase/494

The features that can be managed through this mechanism are limited to those found in the ADMX and ADML files. The settings are not only defined in the files but require support to be compiled into the Editor.

We are interested in hearing from Administrators as to what Editor capabilities you want to be able to manage across your domain through Group Policies.

We use the PDF-XChange Editor PRO for our office user. For the pcs at the factory we use only the FREE version.

Currently I change the user registry to hide the PRO features:

Code: Select all

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Tracker Software\PDFXEditor\3.0\Settings\Cmds\b.HidePRO = 1
But I would be cool, if I can use your ADMX template for this setting!

Hi gerundt,

thanks for the input. I think that is an excellent candidate for inclusion into the Administrative template!

I have made a formal Feature Request to see if this can be added. The ticket (internal only) is RT#3381: Include "Hide PRO Features" in Administrative Template

Awesome feedback.

Thanks you!

Update.

The dev team have said that Hide Pro Features is something that can be added to the template. We don't have a date for when yet but confidence is high that this will happen.
