handwriting not readable

Hi,

We would like to use the PDF Editor on our new Touch Devices. (DELL Latitude 5290) But the users are not happy with the solution, because if they use their Stylo to write into PDF. The software changes the round "edges" of the handwriting into angular "edges". Difficult to describe. :( I hope the attached picture makes it clear.
Our version is: PDF Editor 7.0.327.1

Thanks for your support.

Best regards,
Bernhard

Hello BAAG,

I am afraid that I may not fully understand the issue here. I have been trying to replicate the behaviour described but have so far been unsuccessful.

Could you clarify what aspect here is causing issues, possibly by circling the problem areas with a blue mark in your image from before? Alternatively, if you can take a screencap of the process to showcase the change that happens, that would be helpful as well.

Thank you!

Thank you for your reply. I was afraid that no one would understand my problem. :( :)

For that reason I made two printscreens now.
I am talking about the end of the lines. As long as I am writing, the lines have a round end.

As soon as I release the pen/finger, it converts my lines...

If I write some text like the sample below, it's hard to read.

Why does that happen? I know other PDF-Editors without this behaviour.

Thank you for your Support,
Bernhard

Hello BAAG,

Thank you for the screenshots, I have brought this up to the dev team and we are looking at making this change shortly. This was simply a cosmetic choice that we went with at the time, and hadn't noticed that the others do it slightly differently.

Note that this will only affect the line ends, and will not alter the text itself however. So it is very unlikely that this slight tweak will affect legibility much.

Kind Regards,

Thanks for the reminder Willy,

As was mentioned in that thread, we are working on these features over time, and will release tweaks, adjustments, and the like as we progress in their development.

Kind regards,

Thank you for your explanations. But one more question. What means "shortly" to you? Is there some sort of schedule to release fixes or improvements? :?:

And without attacking you: I have to agree with Willy and other Users. In 2018 with more and more tablets around, the priority of pressure sensitivity and custom smoothing should be higher. Because there is a big need out here...

But anyway. A great tool! :D :D

Best regards,
Bernhard

Hello Bernhard,

Thank you for the post. We do not have a concrete schedule for releases of bugs or improvements as we try to get them out as soon as possible when available to do so. This does not enable us to provide a release date. We of course do make it our priority to ensure the software works best for everyone.

With that being said, We have received confirmation that this tweak is actually already functional in the next build, which we hope to have available for release on December 10th.

OK, this is fast! 8) Thanks a lot for your support! :!:
And for the rest of the improvements of the stylus feature: I guess we have to wait what the future brings.

Thank you!

Best regards,
Bernhard

PS: Is there a way to close the topic?

Hello BAAG,

The only news I have is, "not quite yet" We are working on it, but needed to delay the builds release a bit to do some more fine tuning on some important aspects. It will be available for download in the near future, but I cannot give any guarantees on the exact time.

Kind regards,

Good question.

In my opinion, after the new realease from December the result got better. But it is still not as good as it should be.
And beside, other competitors are able to do it better...

after the update:

Hi guys,

I'm afraid that there isn't any news on this and there isn't likely going to be news as such; as was mentioned earlier in the thread, improvements are being released little by little and, as such, we're not likely to continually update users on small increments of progress.

Thanks,

I vote for this to be corrected. I am marking up construction drawings on a Surface Go with a Surface Pen. My handwriting using this app does not look my own handwriting. FYI - if I write my normal speed, the lines get jagged. If I write super slow, the lines look fine. This sounds like an issue with the speed at which the software can properly display the pen markups from a stylus device, so this issue is NOT SOLVED.
