Scrolling with Pen and Finger while commenting with Pencil tool

I was using the pencil tool to comment a PDF. To scroll I could use the finger in a vertical movement. Now this behaviour has somehow switched which makes no sense to me.
When I use the pen to draw a vertical line th document scrolls and if I use the finger to scroll vertically a line is drawn instead. Is it possible to switch this beahviour back as scrolling with the finger makes more sense to me than writing something with the finger.

Hello Peter123,
It sounds like the "Switch to pencil tool with digitizer function ha been turned off. This can be reenabled under preferences > Commenting.

Once that is enabled, your finger should use the selected tool, and the digitizer should switch to the pencil whenever appropriate.

unfortunately there is no such option in my Version of PDF XChange Viewer (Ver. 2.5 (bild 322.9)). Is there a possibility to change that setting otherwise (via regedit for example)?

Hello Peter123,

I am sorry to say that the viewer was never intended for use with touchscreen devices, as such there is likely no way of changing this.
Regards,

Thank you for your answer.
Strangely though it worked for quite a while and now it seems that finger and pen input are switched.

Hi Peter,

It's likely that a system update caused this by changing the way that it works. As the Viewer hasn't been adapted, it won't conform. I'm afraid that all we can recommend is to use the Editor.

Thanks,
