Hello rlcgm,
Can we please have a copy of the original file and of the printed results?
Also - are you using the current latest build of the Editor - 356?
Kind regards,
Stefan

Hello Rainier,
Thanks for confirming the issue is still here with the current build.
Still - can we please have a copy of the original and the printed result to look at?
Also - is it absolutely necessary for you to print this file? Can you not use other tools available in the Core API that will still make all the necessary changes to the file, without the need to print it?
Kind regards,
Stefan

Hello Stefan,
thanks for the tipp, but this is not a option.
It is a legal issue. If the transfer from the pdf file is not availiable, the print out is the fall back.
Kind regards
Rainer

Re: Print with PdfXChange is not the same as with Acrobat Reader
It seems like PDF-XChange Editor has some problem with the embedded font "MSUIGothicRegular" representing the cross-symbol.
Work-around:
When you select the cross-symbol (via the Content pane) and you change the font to "MS UI Gothic", the problem is solved.
Most probably, Tracker Support will have to make a ticket for their development team to resolve this issue, given the fact that Ad*be Acr*bat Reader does not have a problem with this.
Kind regards.

@Rainer
It looks like the "MS UI Gothic Regular" font is part of the Microsoft Office 2016 suite.
I doubt if it is part of MS Windows itself. That is probably the reason why this font is embedded in your form.
@Tracker Support
Can you please verify with your colleagues in the development team if this problem can be resolved ?
Many thanks in advance.
Kind regards.
Willy

Hi,
I guess there is currently a problem with the support at Tracker Software.
Normally their response is much faster than it is right now.
Let us still be patient, and wait for an answer for some time (one more day).
In the meantime you could have a look at the free additional stamp collection with check-marks:

Can you please verify if the check-box prints correctly with the attached document ?
NOTE: Sorry for the publicity stamps. I do not have a registered version at this time.
If you like, you can remove these stamps via the Organize ribbon > Watermarks > Remove All.
Kind regards.

Re: Print with PdfXChange is not the same as with Acrobat Reader
I would just replace the current check-mark character with one that is available in a default Microsoft Windows font.
So, you do not even need to embed that font in your PDF.
You can find it (for example) in the "Wingdings 2"-font, by pressing ALT + 83 (this also works in PDF-XChange Editor).
Regards.

Hello Willy,
thanks for the solution, but we became the pdf files with the checkbox character and we print only the files.
What is the solution for this case?

Re: Print with PdfXChange is not the same as with Acrobat Reader
There are not so many options:
1) At the bottom of the Print-dialog-box of PDF-XChange Editor : turn ON the check-mark at "Print image".
Printing time will be a little bit longer, but normally the text should finally print correctly.
2) Or, in the Print-dialog-box of PDF-XChange Editor : click the More-button and at "Text Rendering Mode", instead of "Auto" select "Outline for Embedded fonts" or "Bitmap for Embedded fonts".
3) Or, contact the author of the PDF-form and ask for a correction
4) Or, print the form with Ad*be Acr*bat Reader
I hope that Tracker support will pick up this problem and see with their development team what can be done.
Sorry, I should have thought sooner about solutions 1 or 2.
Kind regards.

Not for us:
We use PdfXChange core sdk and not the editor.
We want a solution without Acrobat Reader.

With the CoreAPI SDK which method you are using for printing?
We will update documentation for the IPXC_PageRenderParams using which you can force print embedded fonts as outlines.

We use the "DrawToDevice" function.
hr = ipxcPage->DrawToDevice((PXC::HANDLE_T)dcPrinter, DrawRect, 0, PXC::DDF_AsVector, 0, pROpt, 0);
Kind regards

Re: Print with PdfXChange is not the same as with Acrobat Reader
Please try add DDF_EmbeddedFontAsCurves
Code: Select all
hr = ipxcPage->DrawToDevice((PXC::HANDLE_T)dcPrinter, DrawRect, 0, PXC::DDF_AsVector | PXC::DDF_EmbeddedFontAsCurves, 0, pROpt, 0);
