Given the sad news about the end of SDKs ... some peek into the near future please

Hi Support,

https://www.pdf-xchange.com/company/news-press-events/view/252

You've made the decision, you know the reasons why, and I guess no way to try to talk you out of it ...

Needless to say your have the best PDF processing SDK on the market. For quite some time I wanted to do a post like "thank you for the SDK - I can finally do the stuff I need to do ..." but never found the time to really do it ...

Re: "...a 'tapered' reduction in support and updates over the coming months..."

Is there any chance to confirm if the following open topics/requests/issue fixes will be included in (some of) the next SDK releases:

Not yet confirmed to be in the upcoming builds:

1. "RT#5420: Update Driver for converting internal links in the XPS mode". https://forum.pdf-xchange.com/viewtopic.php?f=66&t=35516#p147581

Stated to be a part or to be checked with next SDK builds:

1. "IPogressCallback for various op.'s" : https://forum.pdf-xchange.com/viewtopic.php?f=66&t=35666#p148300

2. "op.bookmarks.export / op.bookmarks.import via IStream" : https://forum.pdf-xchange.com/viewtopic.php?f=66&t=35801#p148757

3. "#5504: FR: op.combineDocs + AddRootBookmarks + some info on internals": https://forum.pdf-xchange.com/viewtopic.php?f=66&t=35873#p149103

4. "Export a specific annot" : https://forum.pdf-xchange.com/viewtopic.php?f=66&t=35701#p148620

5. "Tooltip for Link annotations - display when document open via IStream" : https://forum.pdf-xchange.com/viewtopic.php?f=66&t=36033#p149380

6. "Default SaveTo Folder ignored for IStream open documents" : https://forum.pdf-xchange.com/viewtopic.php?f=66&t=35977#p149282

Hello zarkogajic,

Thank you for the kind words :)
But it's not over yet - the SDK will be updated and maintained for quite some time (till the late 2022 as the message says).
As I've already told you, the 1-4 are ready now and are waiting for the release.
As for the 5 and 6 - Vasyl will have a look at those when he has spare time.

Cheers,
Alex

Hi Alex,

Thanks. Quite some time sounds like "quite some time" - but we know end of 2022 is just around the corner :)

Could you please also update on "RT#5420" - is there any chance for it to be done soon? As I believe this will come handy for the EU Editor users - so hopefully you can / will have it implemented also for SDK users before "quite some time"...

Hello zarkogajic,

Well I bumped this one to the appropriate developer. Hope he can find some time to do this.

Cheers,
Alex

Alex,

Could I also jump on this thread for the next release.

One thing that I feel would be really beneficial is for the Layer features that were added in the last Xchange Editor Pro End User tool to be exposed to the API.

Thanks

Simon

Hello lidds,

We'll see whether we can include those in one of the future builds.

Hello all,

we are also very sad about this decision of Tracker Software. I hope there would be a way to try to talk you guys this decision out of it.
For sure providing support until 09/2022 give us some time, but as someone on this thread already said the 09/22 is just around the corner.

At this point I would really like to thank Tracker SW for providing such a great tool :D .
It is a pity you made this decision.

Is there any thread on this forum providing tips regarding similar tools?

Best Regards,
Eleni

Hello Eleni,

Thanks for the kinds words, and we are also sad it had to come to this decision, but it had to be taken!
As for discussing other tools like ours - no - this is not something that has a thread in our forums, as only our own products are generally discussed here.

Kind regards,
Stefan
