Accessibility and “Page Background Color”

Post by Erickc »

Hi folks,

In our app built around PDF-Xchange Editor SDK, we have problems with accessibility options for some documents. Sometimes, it is not possible to apply a specific background color.

In preferences, we check “Override Document Colors” and set the desired “Page Background Color”. This works in most instances but with some documents, it doesn’t.

For these specific documents, to see a change in the background color, we also have to select a “Fill color” in the “Line Art” section and uncheck the “Change the color of black text or line art only”.

The problem with this specific option (“Change the color of black text or line art only” ) is that, when unchecked, the colors of existing and new annotations are changed and this is unwanted by our customer.

Is it a known problem on your side? Do you have any trick to get the same behavior for the “Page background Color” option for all the PDF documents?

If it could help to understand the issue, I attached two documents, one that gives the expected results and another that doesn’t.

Thank you very much,

Best regards

Eric

Hello Eric,

Can this also be recreated via the End-User Editor or is this a SDK related problem?

Cheers,
Alex

Hello Alex,

The same behaviour can be reproduced with the End-User Editor.

Hello Eric,

Thanks for confirming this. I've managed to reproduce the issue in the End user editor as well - and we will now ask one of the devs who is working on the accessibility code to take a look at this and see how we can resolve this issue!

Stefan

We made improvements with overriding colors in build 325. It is still not perfect and will require a bit more attention in further builds, but now it is much better.
