Add more text to PDF without damaging other content

Post by asocialis »

My PDF is all text only. No images or other objects. Should be simple.
But when I start adding more text, then existing text gets moved over other text or out of box.
Can I somehow add text while shifting all content after it and later pages to correct positions by making more space?
So nothing gets lost or damaged. Just like in regular txt file.
Meaning that if I add more text to page 1, but it is already full of text, so that it moves excess of text to page 2, and from page 2 to page 3 etc, shifting all pages a bit.
The only option I currently see is to save as txt, then edit while in txt, then after finish all editing, convert to pdf.
But in txt it loses some formatting, like no whitespaces or not separated into paragraphs, so have to manually fix it, but document is too large.
Example: Let's say that only 3 characters can fit in one page, and they are ABD. When I add C, so it becomes ABCD, I want first page to contain ABC, and 2nd page D.
Or if first page contains ABC and second contains GHI, when I add DEF to 2nd, I want GHI to move to 3rd page...

Hello asocialis,

Unfortunately the PDF file format works with individual pages - and the content on one page is in no way related to the content of the other.
So we can not offer a text reflow between pages feature, sorry!

Instead of converting to .txt - why don't you try converting to .docx - and then you can convert back to PDF after you do your Edits that would have required text overflow the page.

Kind regards,
Stefan
