[Feature Request] Set Background Color

Post by netsonicyxf »

Sumatra PDF has an option called BackgroundColor, which allow users to change background color of the main document and of the bookmark panel.
BackgroundColor = #cce8cf
, #cce8cf is the light green.

Hello netsonicyxf,

We have options that would allow you to add a permanent background to a file:

Or if you want to change just the way it looks on your screen, but not actually add a background colour to the file - you can use the accessibility options and this will change both the thumbnail previews and the main rendering area where the pages are shown:

As for the UI of the Editor itself - that's in it's own category in the Preferences (Ctrl + K) window:

Kind regards,

Hello Stefan,

The accessibility options is one that I want to use. The effect is a little bit different:

PDF Xchange Editer, as you can see, the background of the image is not changed

Sumatra PDF, as you can see, the background of the image is changed as well

PDF is attached

Hello netsonicyxf,

I was not aware that Sumatra does this. I am asking our devs to take a look here and we will see if something similar can be applied on our end as well.

Kind regards,
Stefan

Re: [Feature Request] Set Background Color  SOLVED

Hello again netsonicyxf,

Just a quick update - it seems like Sumatra just replaces any white pixels with your chosen background colour. Our developers asked me to make a FR so that we can implement something similar:
#6145: FR: Option for the accessibility colour overrides to replace any white colour (including in images) with the specified background colour

With us it will be optional - you would be able to have the current behaviour or have all white colours replaced as well.

Kind regards,
Stefan

Hello netsonicyxf,

Yes - ticket #6145 is still opened on our end. It has not been resolved and the feature is not yet implemented.

Kind regards,
Stefan
