Reform Bookmarks
Hi,
I've got a document with a bunch of bookmarks, but they all resize the page.
Seems like what I need is something like what's discussed here: https://forum.pdf-xchange.com/viewtopic.php?f=62&t=37840&p=156472&hilit=bleeding#p156472
So, if I went into the Properties of each bookmark, is that an easy fix - i.e. fewer than just one or two small properties to change to get the effect described in the link above?
And, if so, what properties are those that I need to change?
Sincerely,
SCH

Re: Reform Bookmarks
Hello shade-cabin-hammock,
Have you tried turning this option on: This should allow you to still navigate the bookmarks without them forcing a different zoom level on you while reading that file.
Kind regards,
Stefan

User viewing document with existing bookmarks
Stefan's solution would work well as a convenient quick fix for you to view an existing document.
User adding new bookmarks to document
At the link provided by the OP, https://forum.pdf-xchange.com/viewtopic.php?f=62&t=37840&p=156472#p156469 , David.P mentions options that allow the user to specify how new bookmarks are created (by default).
User sharing document with existing bookmarks
If you want to send a document with existing bookmarks to other users — who might use different PDF viewers — then you might want to edit the Properties of the existing bookmarks.
You can right-click the particular bookmark, but it's quicker to use the keyboard shortcut: Ctrl+` with the relevant bookmark selected. (Note the angle of the character: it is not a regular quotation mark, it's the character under the tilde (~).)
Then under "Actions" you should see that upon a Mouse Up event the action is set to "Go to a Page in the Document". The details of this action can be accessed by clicking the "..." button. Click "Edit" to change the Zoom setting to "Inherit" (or whatever you prefer). It's not too difficult, although there would be several clicks and keypresses per bookmark.

Re: Reform Bookmarks
Hello DIV,
Thanks for the additional information!
Indeed that can be used if shade-cabin-hammock is working on creating that file. However if they receive such files from a third party source - this might be an overkill doing it for all files!
I am not saying the above to disparage you or the effort you've put in your post - I am sure that your extra info would be useful to @SCH in their work with bookmarks!
Kind regards,
Stefan

Re: Reform Bookmarks
Hi all,
I believe that this feature in the bookmarks' options menu (the one with the gears button) can be used to quickly fix the problem, by setting all bookmarks' zoom factor to "inherit":
Cheers,
David

Re: Reform Bookmarks
Hello, David.P,
that seems like a great tip, but I cannot find the recommended menu item, "Change Bookmarks Zoom Factor", in my version (9.2.358.0) of Editor.

Hello DIV,
Customize Toolbars > Commands > Type factor in the search box > Drag and drop it to the bookmarks pane (on the cog icon)

And can be added to any location from the customization menu: Kind regards,
Stefan

Re: Reform Bookmarks
Thanks, Toygun & Stefan.
So the easy option is to access this feature from the Bookmarks menu on the Ribbon (I hadn't noticed it before).
Alternatively, the "Options..." menu (under the 'cog' icon) in the Bookmarks pane can be customised. Good to know!
