The mis-touching of scrollbar in the tablet mode
Dear all,
I sometimes use Xchange Editor in the tablet mode of the laptop. I found that the scrollbar is prone to mis-touching even when I have set 'Ignore touch input when I'm using my pen' in Windows. This is because I am right-handed and before the tip touches the monitor, the rim of my palm has already touched the scrollbar. I have several potential approaches to deal with this situation.
1) Add an option for toggling the scrollbar existence. This is the easiest but an extra step has to be done while using the pen.
2) Add an option for moving the scrollbar to the left. This may also be not very complicated but can be counter-intuitive to many right-handed users.
3) Add a tablet mode that integrates functions like 'commenting tool pop-up' and 'invisible scrollbar' to optimize the user experience for tablets. This is extremely demanding but may attract more users in the long run.
Thank you.

Re: The mis-touching of scrollbar in the tablet mode
Hello, lester1027
Thank you for the report and suggestions, I have brought this to the Dev team, and they said that they are going to work on some improvements in that area. For this case, I have created the following ticket:
RT#5926: Improve touch scrollbar handling.
Though internal only, you can ask here for updates on the tickets progress in the future.
Kind regards,

Re: The mis-touching of scrollbar in the tablet mode
May I know the update of this issue please?
Also, I have thought of a relatively simple way of solving the issue. Maybe after endering the annotation mode, xchange editor can automatically hide the scrollbar. When the user exits the annotation mode, the scrollbar is recalled. The implementation is used in a lot of apps such as the Android MS Office pdf viewer.
Thank you.

Hello lester1027,
The ticket has been assigned to a developer and is currently open (there are three main states that we use - New, Open, Resolved) - so it is in the pipeline, but there are no further updates in that ticket.
Kind regards,
Stefan

Hello, lester1027
The ticket makes a direct reference to this thread, so by posting here, it is something that the Dev team will see when they review this, but I should warn you that option may be rejected.
This is because, unlike the mobile Office PDF viewer, our products are designed for use on much larger screens, as well as intended primarily as an "editing" software, if activating an editing/annotation tool hid the scrollbar, many people would never be able to find it again, as nearly every tool we offer, beyond the hand tool, is an editing or annotation tool of some sort.
