CTRL - V capability using stamps

Post by scrichton »

Hi All,

Glad I found this forum from the help section in PDF X-Change.

I recently had a new version of the software loaded on to my new laptop and can't figure out how to turn on the CTRL-V function to work as it did before.

When using stamps for designs I used to be able to copy a stamp and then mouse over a spot to place an additional stamp and hit CTRL-V and it would place at the spot where my cursor was. Now when I do so it places the stamp on top of the stamp I had copied it from so they essentially just stack on top of one another.

I have been high and low in the software trying to get this to work as it did previously to no avail. Any ideas on where this setting is?

Hello, scrichton

This would be caused by the "paste into mouse position" option, which can be enabled through the preferences (Ctrl_K) under the Commenting category:

I hope this helps!

Well......a further use case has popped up.

I use stamps for putting icons on floor plans. When I used to click on a stamp from the stamps pallet it would put one every time I clicked my mouse.

For some reason in the past couple of days it will only allow me to place a single stamp, I then have to go back into stamps and click the one I want again? Is there a setting in the commenting that will allow me to do this again as it's very cumbersome going back in and clicking stamps if I want to place multiple symbols?

Hi scrichton,

when you select the stamp, there is a button on the properties tab "Keep Selected". It is only visible when you have the tool selected, as soon as you place a stamp focus switches to the stamp object you just placed so the tools properties are not available. Just jit escape once to deselect the stamp itself and that stamp tool property to "Keep Selected" should appear again.

Or just hit the "Keep Selected" button after selecting the stamp but before placing it:

I believe this is what you are looking for.
