Wrong color of pdf background, Sumatra fits it correct...

Post by pdfcoder »

Hello,
a pdf file shows wrong background color in PDF X-Change Editor, while Adobe Reader, Sumatra, Firefox show it in correct manner.

What is the problem with this test-grey.pdf file (attached)?

Thanks and regards,
Chris

Hello, pdfcoder

Both my tests in the latest release, build 356, and the older one you mentioned, build 354 appear to display this document correctly on my end.
I suspect you may have accidentally enabled the "accessibility color override". Please try pressing Ctrl+Shift+6 to disable this override, and let me know if it helps.

Hmmm, I am sorry,

it didn't solve all my problems...

If creating something in CorelDraw with importing a picture with transparent background, all PDF viewers show the resulting PDF in normal manner, background is consistent grey.

Only PDF Xchange Editor marks the former transparent background of imported picture as white space. Why?

Hello, pdfcoder

It seems that you still have color override enabled.

Please make sure this option is disabled:

I am sorry, but this option IS disabled.

Inserted picture with transparent background does not show a white surrounding, but background color of whole file is not light grey (as designed) but light orange...
Hmmmm.…

Hello, pdfcoder

Thank you for checking this.

Could you please go to this folder:

C:\Windows\System32\spool\drivers\color

...and temporarily move all the color profiles you see there ( all the ICC files ) to some folder.

After that, please open the same file into the PDF Editor and check if the colors are correct now.

Regards.

This did the trick, colors are correct.

How to evaluate, which color profile is guilty?
Are those color profile needed for other applications?
Any side effects if moved permanently?

Hello, pdfcoder

The only way to know which one is the faulty one is to start bringing them back to the original folder one by one.
Are those color profile needed for other applications?
Any side effects if moved permanently?
When they are need by some application they are recreated with their default settings, so no, there will be no serious consequences doing so.

Attached the faulty color profile causing the color error in PDF Xchange Editor.
It seems to be a Samsung file!?

Yes, usually the monitor profile is the one to blame.

It seems that something has changed its default values.

Just do not use the old one and everything will be OK.
