Print pdf like a book (with separate cover)

Post by Benjamin_Mathis »

Hello,

I would like to print a pdf like a book or a booklet.
It means that when I open the pdf file, I see the first page cover alone, then all the pages are visible by 2 until the end page.(like this)

The cover (page 1)
Page 2/Page 3
Page 4/Page 5
...
The end page

I have tried something like print/properties/paper/booklet/book but it doesn't work.

Someone can help me please?

Thanks

Hi,

I suppose that your main goal is "to see" your PDF like that, because I'm afraid that there is no immediate way to print it like that in a simple way.

If so, just look the attached screenshot of the View-ribbon.

Three icons to verify:
- "Two pages"-view should be ON
- "Show cover page in two pages view" should be on
- "Show gaps between pages" can be turned off, if you like

Keep us posted.

Kind regards.

Willy

Hi Willy,

Thank you very much for your answer.
It's exactly the result that I wanted but do you know if I can save this configuration to other people who opened my file with another pdf-viewer like Acrobat Reader please?

Thanks.
Kind regards

Hi Benjamin,

It seems like I have good news for you.

When your PDF is open in PDF-XChange Editor:
- go into the File menu and click "Document Properties"
- click "Initial View"
- at "Page Layout", select "Two Pages, with Cover Page"
- click "OK"
- save your PDF

I verified in Ad*be Acr*bat Reader DC and also in F*xit Reader, and it works.

No guarantee for other PDF readers. Verify, if you like to be sure.

Kind regards.

Willy

Thanks, Willie, for getting involved and helping.

I'm not sure how we missed this topic, for which I apologize.
