(Possible bug) "New Destination" button and the "Named Destination pane".

Post by igorlima »

When I open a pdf, if I click on the option "Add Bookmark", the xchange will add the bookmark and open the "bookmark pane" if it isn't opened. I can do that multiple times and the result will be the same: the bookmark pane will always open if its closed.

Meanwhile, If I click on the option "New Destination", the xchange will add the destination and open the "named destination pane" if its closed, but only if it was the first time I click on the "New Destination" after opening the pdf. After opening the pdf and clicking the first time on the "new destination" button, the subsequent times I click on the "New Destination" button the destination pane will not open. The destination pane will only open again (on the click of the "New destination button") if I close the pdf and open again. And, as I said, that will only happen on the first time I click on the new destination button for the first time I open the PDF.

Shouldn't the "New Destination" button always open the "named destination pane" if its closed? in a similar way that the "Add bookmark" button always open the bookmark pane if its closed?

For clarification, please see the video and gif attached where I try to show what I'm saying.

Hello igorlima,

I will pass your question to a colleague in our UI team, and ask him if this is working as expected. If not - we will make a ticket and get that fixed!

Kind regards,
Stefan

Hello igorlima,

I did get a reply indeed! Apologies for the delay in following up!
This does seem like an issue - so we've created a ticket in our internal system for it:
#5670: "New Destination" button and the "Named Destination pane"
And will work on a fix.

When there are updates in the ticket - we will post them here.

Kind regards,
Stefan
