Re: DRM matter
Hello ByungHee,
It seems like this is a South Korean company - but when seatching online for them - I could not actually find their own website, but only mentions in e.g. Wikipedia or Bloomberg... Do you happen to have any direct contact for this company? Maybe we can approach them and start a conversation to see if they have some tools they could provide that would allow us to support their DRM?
Kind regards,
Stefan

Hello ByungHee,
Just a further update that we have now contacted the developers of this DRM tool, and are awaiting their feedback!
If they have the right tools to provide to us - we will see to work on adding support for their DRM into our software.
Kind regards,
Stefan

Hi Stefan,
Good to know the progress. You have at least 7 commercial users in our company and will get more, if you solve the problem.
Thanks,
BH

Hello ByungHee,
Actually I got a reply back from the developer of this DRM, and their reply was quite a brief one, advising that I should ask you to approach them directly! So can you please try to give them a call and see if they will be able to give you a bit more information on how their DRM system works? Maybe it can decrypt the files in their own tool, and you can then open the non encrypted PDFs natively in the Editor!?
Kind regards,
Stefan

Re: DRM matter
Hi Stefan,
If I have admin. authority of the program, I can do decrypt so.
and of course, I can open the non encrypted PDFs.
Nevertheless, I have asked the company to provide more information for you.
Thanks,
BH

Re: DRM matter
Hello ByungHee,
Thanks for doing so!
The reply I got from them was that you will need to purchase their software - so I presume it's a separate stand alone product, and once you have that licensed - you will be able to decrypt your PDF files, and they should then open perfectly fine in our Editor.
Kind regards,
Stefan

Re: DRM matter
Hi Stefan,
I got same reply with you. The S/W licence needs to be purchased.
It seems that there are small misunderstandings that I need to modify the PDF files without decrypt process as same as Adobe ones. If not, I have to notify our IT to withdraw PDF -Xchange.
Please let me have your clear answer for this.

Re: DRM matter
Hello ByungHee,
I am not sure how Adobe does it - and that software company was not very helpful!
If they have a plug-in that allows you to make changes to such files - it's likely paid for integration with Adobe.
Otherwise - if it was a free feature - you could open such a file, copy all it's content (being able to modify it would mean you can also copy it) and then just create a new file out of that content.
Please see if you can get more information from the developers of this tool on how their files work with Adobe?
Kind regards,
Stefan

Re: DRM matter
Hi Stefan,
Please find below captured screen and see how does work and not. PDF-Xchanger is the one of great S/W when I was in SIEMENS but now became useless.
Please make it work and our colleagues are also wish for this.

Hi Stefan,
Please see below captured file. Abode : Both open and edit
PDF-Xchage: Red file open and edit / Blue file not
Due to the internal security matter, all files shall be automatically encrypted (Blue file) except very limited cases and this needs official approval.
Please make it work as Adobe ones.

Re: DRM matter
Hello ByungHee,
Reviewing some older topics that could have remained not 100% resolved.
I did review this case once again - and if I remember correctly - we took part of the discussion over e-mails and contacted the developer of that third party protection tool. The final result from the e-mail discussion was that the third party advised you to contact them for further discussions, and for the time being it does not seem like we need to do anything more from our end.
Kind regards,
Stefan
