Annotations clipped by form fields with background color

Post by mb-tracker »

Hi there,

we are working with forms which include text fields with a background color. Any annotation added to the document shows below the text field and is therefore shown clipped (see attachements).
Is there any way to get the annotations fully visible?

We have tried to put it to the foreground using the right click menu but to avail.

Tests with other PDF programs:
- Adobe DC: same as PDF Editor > annotation below form field
- Microsoft Edge: same as PDF Editor > annotation below form field
- PDF Expert: annotations above form fields > fully visible
- Firefox: annotations above form fields > fully visible

Platform: Win10 x64
PDF-Editor: Plus 9.0 Build 354

Hello mb-tracker,

The form fields are with a higher 'priority' and would always be shown on top of other content by us and as you've seen by Adobe and Edge. I am not 100% sure if there is a mention of this in the PDF specification but in most cases - you want fields to be on top, so that they can be accessible and fillable by the users of your file, and having other annotations "on top" of them could interfere with the fields.

Kind regards,
Stefan
