PDF XChange on Microsoft Terminal Servers 2019

Post by PavelH »

Dear Sirs and Madames,
we use PDF XChange in the latest version on Microsoft Terminal Servers 2019.
Although we have followed your instructions regarding GPO settings, it happens again and again that the licenses on some terminal servers disappear after a reboot (all TS servers are rebooted at night).
We then have to enter you once as an admin and then it's good again.
Since we send invoices, etc. from our ERP system as PDF, this is critical (the users concerned will then have their demo watermark there)
Can you urgently help us with this? Do you know the mistake?
If you need more information, I will send you everything that will help you to find a solution.
Many thanks

Hello PavelH,

Please take a look here:

This should help you with making your license key stick to your servers!

Kind regards,
Stefan

Thanks for your reply.
We have set up an Active Directory Group Policy according to your link.
As I wrote, it works on 6 servers without any problems.
On the other 20 servers, which we gradually added, the license key is always deleted after a restart.
Does this mean that 6 servers will work using GP and the other 20 I have to script via XCVault.exe?

Hi, PavelH

Assuming that the other 20 are setup identically to the first 6 which are working, there should ne no need for a difference in handling at all. Most likely, a setting on the new servers is different from the first 6 which leads to our registry keys being overwritten, or the key having not been properly decrypted for use on the server. Please do ensure that these new servers are not running with vastly different settings that could impact registry values for your users, and if that does not appear to be the case, please send us an email via support@pdf-xchange.com

In that email, please include a copy of your license key, and any other details about your environment, and the method of deployment in use, so that our system administration specialist can take a look and help you directly.
