The attached PDF* seems to contain only the Cambria Math font, and I cannot see 'italic' characters (code-points) defined in it.
"𝐸 𝑟𝑖 − 𝑟𝑓 = β𝑖 𝐸 𝑟𝑀 − 𝑟𝑓
𝐸 𝑟𝑖 = 𝑟𝑓 + β𝑖[𝐸 𝑟𝑀 − 𝑟𝑓]"
which looks italic (but it is not styled as italic!).
When I try to get the ASCII or Unicode character codes, it seems that each character is composed of two bytes.
Partly this is out of curiosity as to how/why this is implemented.
But on a practical level it's a nuisance: I want to be able to copy and paste such things as 'plain text'. I.e. more like
"E(ri) – rf = βi [E(rM) – rf]" and so on.
I would then manually (re)format that to suit my preferences, such as
"E(ri) – rf = βi [E(rM) – rf]" and so on.
I am not aware of a way to readily convert the double-byte 'italic' glyphs to equivalent simple ASCII characters.

Hi DIV,
I am so sorry we missed your post. Is this still an issue for you? I am not sure of the correct answer myself, but if this is still an issue for you let us know and we'll have one of the devs take a look.
