Specify file name and storage location

Post by Office231 »

Hi,
is there a possibility to insert a kind of "configured SAVE AS" button in the ribbons?

The following things should be done (PDF document is already open)

-> Save as
(File name should be suggested (Typ_Position_Name)

-> The fixed folder should always be selected
(As an example D: \ Documents \ Ready)

Thanks a lot!! 🙂

Hello Office231,

Please open the Editor's preferences window (Ctrl + K), and then navigate to Documents on the left, and on the right hand side you will see the "Save Documents" settings.
The third option in the drop down menu does allow you to force a fixed location where all files would be saved by default:

Hello Office231,

If you are making a custom Action JS button - you can hard code the name there.
You can also use macros in our PDF Tools and PDF XChange Standard printing drivers, but the Editor would normally open files which are already created, and as such have a file name (or if you are making a new file from scratch it will have 'New Document' kind of template name), so that is why the Editor would in it's normal Save As dialogue always suggest the current name of the file, and if you want to use another you have to manually change that.

Kind regards,
Stefan
