Shifting page content to create a margin
I have several pdf's I'd like to adjust. Everything on the page is flush with the left edge. Is there an easy way to shift everything on a page to the right, say for example, by 1/4"?
Actually, what I want to do is add a 1/4" margin on all sides of everything on the page AND keep the pdf dimensions the same size. This would shrink everything on the page which I have no problem with. I have applied OCR, so the scale of where the text is would have to be automatically adjusted too.
I tried the re-size option, but that does not seem to do what I want.
I could export to an image file, adjust the image, and then recreate the pdf. I hope there's an easier way within PDF-XChange to do the adjusting.

Hi,
I think you should try the "Transform" feature:
https://help.pdf-xchange.com/pdfxe9/index.html?transform_ed_2.html
What I did with your PDF:
- open it
- show the "Content" pane (View > Panes > Content)
- in the Content-pane click whatever item (= "Page 1" in this case)
- then click the Options icon in the Content-pane
- in the menu, click "Expand All Descendants"
- click the Options icon once more
- click Select > All
- now, in the Home-ribbon, click the Selection-icon, and click Transform
- in the "Transform Selection"-dialog-box, mark the check-box
- in the first text-box, select the number of mm you like to move the text to the right
- click OK

Re: Shifting page content to create a margin
Hi, DWC121
Willy's suggestion is great, so I hope it helps!
If you did also want to scale down the entire page content, or all content items at once (instead of handling base content, comments, and form fields independently), I would suggest taking a look at this post: viewtopic.php?f=62&t=34608#p143991
Kind regards,

Re: Shifting page content to create a margin
Willy - Thank you! I figured it out and moved the contents away from all the edges. Now... How do I do this for ALL the pages in the document? This document has 10 pages, but another document I need to adjust has 45 pages. It seems as if the "Transform" option only works on one page at a time.
I'll also give Daniel's suggestion a try. His suggestion sounds like it might work for all the pages.

Re: Shifting page content to create a margin
Hi all,
Yesterday I thought to have seen the "Transform"-feature working for multiple pages, but I must have been wrong.
Today I tried again but to no avail. It only works for one page.
So, the "Resize Pages"-feature using the "Horizontal Offset"-placement option explained by Daniel, is the perfect answer to your question. I have tried it, and it works great.
Best regards.

Re: Shifting page content to create a margin
Nice, the "Placement Options" as part of "Resize" work wonders. (As recommended and discussed in post viewtopic.php?f=62&t=34608#p143991), so I just confirm it works well shifting content and I can avoid "adding margins" and all that. Regards
