Hi Ghassan

your license allows you to use up to 8.0.339.0. Is that the version you are testing? Can you send us a screen shot of the error message you get please? I just tested the current build and it is accessing SharePoint via a "Place" I just added, so I know the current version is working fine.

I think there may have been some changes recently to keep up with how SharePoint Authentication works. I'd need to get that confirmed however.

This 8.0.339.0 is the version that I have. there is no error message. When I click on add a new place and provide the site URL, it asks for the username and password, I provide that but it keeps popping up with the same window. Do you know if this version does support SharePoint Online on Office 365?

Hi again Ghassan,

I believed it was supported, but I will need to ask around to see if there was an issue that was fixed.

Even if we did not explicitly fix 8.0.339.0 ( I don't see mention of it in the Build History) you would need to test the current build to see if it is working. You should be able to test this with the current portable version and not have it impact your installed version: https://www.pdf-xchange.com/PDFXEdit9_Portable.zip

I just used it to test adding a SharePoint "Place" successfully. I am keen to hear how that goes for you.

Sincerely
Best regards

Same thing with the portable version. Did you connect to SharePoint Online when you tested it? if yes, are you using your email and password for the Authentication Required window?

I am thinking this version might only support SharePoint on premises? Please confirm, we have around 600 licenses and users are wasting lots of time because of this.

HI Ghassan,

I tested with a SharePoint Online instance, with an https://xxxxxxxx.sharepoint.com/sites/TrackerTeams URL

I used an email address for a hybrid Azure AD and on premise domain. It does have Azure AD connect enabled. The account I used to test was authenticated through Azure, not locally.

I believe the current version should be able to connect to SharePoint Online via Azure authentication as well as an on Premise SharePoint. Can I ask you to enable logging on your SharePoint plugin and send us the logs of your connection attempt please? Please do not post these on the forums as they can contain sensitive data. Instead email them to support@pdf-xchange.com

I will have the SharePoint expert take a look.

Hi,

Has there been any news surrounding this topic? I'm currently facing the exact same problem, so I hope a solution will soon be found.

Best regards,

Same issues on our end. it seems the only way it works is if we allow apps that dont support modern authentication in the sharepoint admin center.
While you could just do that it is frowned on as being an unsafe practice. is pdf x-change editor not supporting MS's Modern Authentication? or is there documentation from you on how to set it up for pdf x-change?

Hello, michaelbontje

The latest releases should be up to date and support the modern authentication mechanisms. If you are still encountering this issue, please try updating to version 9, build 358.0, and let us know if that helps!
