Discontinuous Annotation

I would like to know how to solve the discontinuous annotation problem as shown in the picture.

Hello lester1027,

Thanks for the sample file.
Can you pleas ego to Help -> About in the Editor and check which build you have?
I suspect you might be with an older build - as I just tested your file in build 341 - and the highlight is working correctly on the exact same paragraph that you tried to highlight.

I am so sorry that I did not mention I highlighted the paragraph with Onedrive pdf reader.

I posted the question here because I thought it was a general pdf problem (maybe some encoding problems etc.). If it is beyond the scope of this forum, I totally understand.

Unfortunately, that would be the case, applying comments, including highlights, is something that is handled by the application you are viewing the document in. If Onedrive is applying the highlights like this, it has absolutely nothing to do with our software, so there is no way we can have any impact. You will need to bring this issue to Microsoft, so that they can hopefully fix the issue in their service.
