PDF links (internal) not working

Post by Display »

Dear Support Team!
I have experienced the following problem(s) with the PDF-XChange Editor:

Just noticed that a PDF if found (see attached 'userGuide.pdf') has working links when viewed in Adobe Reader but not in PDF-XChange (fails in Viewer too).
The links even work with-in Microsoft Edge !

Is there an option or setting I'm overlooking to get table of contents links working.. or is this feature missing from PDF-X?
Now I'm wondering how many of my other PDFs are affected by this.
Thanks for any suggestions!

PS.
Also, I can't use the in-built reported because I used Gmail/browser email:

Hello Display,

Can you please go to Help -> About in the Editor and check which build are you using?
As I just tested your file - and all the "Contents" links appear to be working perfectly fine for me with build 341 of the Editor.

Kind regards,
Stefan

Hi Stefan!
I'm on v8.0 build 341.0 (Enhanced OCR) and just tried mashing modifier keys whilst clicking. The links work while shift clicking!
Has it always been like this? Or did I change a setting somewhere to specify it?

Hi, Display

Regarding clicking links and the shift key working, That would be caused by Exclusive mode, you can toggle this on and off for the Hand tool from the Format tab while it is selected:

As for the mail issue.
Please open the preferences (Ctrl_K) and under "send mail", click your mail client, then Edit. In the dialog that appears, if there is an option to "use 32-bit MAPI module" please try unchecking that and seeing if that works.
If that does not help, return it to normal, and then please try completely reinstalling your mail client (if this is outlook, you will need to reinstall the entire MS Office suite). There is a known issue with some mail clients, chiefly outlook, which causes it to incorrectly report itself to other apps, including ours, so we think it simply does not exist, there are a number of "possible" solutions online including registry tweaks and the like, but the only reliable method I have seen is to fully reinstall it.

Thank you Daniel, you are correct, it was Exclusive mode set to on!
And thanks for the advice for the email Preference settings - I've got it set up correctly now :D
Thanks again!
