Printing to PDF printer not launching PDF-Xchange

Printing to PDF printer not launching PDF-Xchange

G'day
I changed from Foxit-PDF to PDF-Xchange recently for the specific requirement of have my accounting software "MYOB Accountright" launch the default PDF application when a document is printed to PDF.
This functionality was in Foxit but removed a couple of versions ago. Today it seems to have stopped working in PDF-Xchange V8.0 Build 341.0 when printing to PDF-Xchange Lite. It creates and store the PDF but the viewer does not launch upon successful creation.
Has the feature been removed or am I missing a setting that may have been corrupted/altered?
I did try printing to the Internal driver and that does display as expected but "stamped" as I do not have a full license. As that works I assume the issue to be in PDF-Xchange and not MYOB.
Can anyone shed some light on this issue and how to fix it.

Please try the following steps:
- Go into Windows Settings
- Click "Devices"
- Click "Printers & scanners"
- Click the "PDF-XChange Lite" printer
- Click "Manage"
- Click "Printing preferences"
- In the column at the left, click "Save"
- At the right, make sure that the check-box at "Run Application After Printing" is active
- Click "OK"
- Close the Settings window

I think I have solved the problem .... in the print dialogue there is a check box to launch the viewer which by default has been changed to un-ticked. Just need to find where to make the default ticked.

Thanks for confirming.
Normally, when you go to the printer settings via the Print dialog-box, the modifications you make are only valid for that session.
When you go to the printer settings via Windows Settings, the modifications are permanent.

PDF-XChange Lite not Listed in Devices
G'day
Just installed my second copy on a new NUC, PDF-XChange Lite printer is available as a device to print to.....But I wanted to tick the Windows settings for the Device to always launch the application after viewing ..... for some reason PDF-XChange Lite is not listed in Windows 10 Devices.
Xchange Internal Driver is.
I have uninstalled and re-installed with the same result.
Any clues as to what could have happened?

Myself, I do not see an immediate reason why the "PDF-XChange Lite" printer should not appear in your Windows "Printers & scanners" after installation.
Did you download the PDF-XChange Lite printer from here:
- https://www.pdf-xchange.com/product/pdf-xchange-lite
Do you see the printer when you look via Control Panel > Devices and Printers or via Device Manager > Print queues ?

Also - a restart of windows might be needed before the printer is fully installed and listeed everywhere it needs to be. So Nobo did you restart your windows after installing Lite?

It is really strange, PDF-Xchange Editor is what was installed, twice with machine reboots, shutdown and alike.
Perhaps I should down load just PDF-Xchange Lite printer and install that?
That said the Lite Printer is available in available in Print Dialog boxes as is Internal Driver. But when you use Windows 10 Devices or Control Panel Devices it is not seen.
Device manager within Computer Management does show the printer:

You have an "XChange Internal Driver". This is probably the one you are looking for. Have you renamed this in the past?
Or do you have some other software on your machine which might have installed one of our printing drivers as well?

Maybe the easiest way to resolve the problem, is to install PDF-XChange Editor without the included PDF-XChange Lite printer and run a separate installation of PDF-XChange Lite printer FREE. If possible, install with 'run as administrator'.
If after this, the problem should persist, myself I have no further ideas.
