Change the default Author name for comments?

Hi all,

Is there a way to change the default Author name for comments? The Author for comments seems to be stuck as your windows login name. I've changed my Name in Identity Options but that didn't help. Manually changing the Author of comments for every document isn't a good solution for me even if I can do them all at once from the Comments List.

Hello MLindsay,

The Editor uses your login as an author by default. Changing your Name in the Identity tab of the Editor's Preferences (Ctrl+K) will also change the default Author.

With these settings, whenever I place a comment, the Author is Test 1.

Hi Radi,

As I said in my post I had changed my name in Identity Options but it didn't work. However, I hadn't closed and restarted the program. Now the change has taken effect. Thank you!

Hi, thank you for this post, This was exactly what I was looking for. However somehow I cannot edit that "Login Name" field, whatever I try to type or delete there doesn't work, I can place the cursor there but it throws a Windows audible error on any input indicating it's not possible.

Any solution to this?

Hello Umwael,

The Login Name cannot be edited. This is taken from your Windows log in and cannot be modified. If you would like another name to appear as an author for your documents, please enter this in the Name field.
