I do not know if this is related to Xchange Editor. The thumbnails of pdf files are not shown in the explorer.
Settings related to that are already tuned.
Thank you.

Re: Thumbnails not shown in Windows Explorer
Hello lester1027,
I'm not sure what version of the PDF Editor you are using but if you have version 7 or 8 you can set this from here:
Please go to this folder:
C:\Program Files\Tracker Software\Shell Extensions
..adn start this file - XCShInfoSetup.exe
Then, set all the fields you see there to PDF XChange:
I hope this helps.
Regards.

Re: Thumbnails not shown in Windows Explorer
I just installed XChange-Editor 8 on a new PC and have just generic thumbnails in Explorer. I followed the instructions for XCShinfoSetup and made changes so it looks just like you suggested. I still just have the generic pdf thumbnails.

Re: Thumbnails not shown in Windows Explorer
Hi, fred roland
Have you restarted the PC since installing or making these changes? as these do make alterations to the Shell, sometimes a restart is required to take effect. Please also confirm if you have tried disabling all shell extensions, applying, and then reenabling them again, as detailed here: https://www.pdf-xchange.com/knowle ... extensions
Kind regards,

Re: Thumbnails not shown in Windows Explorer
Because this just happened to me again, I shall note here what helped, so that it can be found again later if needed.
First, neither the two methods from the knowledge base nor a complete reinstallation of PDF-XChange Pro helped.
https://www.pdf-xchange.com/knowledgebase/395-How-do-I-re-register-the-shell-extensions
PDF thumbnails were still not shown in Windows Explorer.
Then I also completely uninstalled and reinstalled Ad0be Reader, and enabled PDF thumbnail display there like this:
After that, thumbnails were displayed in Windows Explorer again. These were probably created by Ad0be Reader. Finally, I used the XCShInfoSetup.exe utility to switch everything back to PDF-XChange:

Anyway, now everything works again.

Re: Thumbnails not shown in Windows Explorer
Hello, David.P
Thank you for the update David... There are many cases where Adobe can unfortunately prevent other applications from making their presence known to windows itself. Hopefully this helps someone else in a similar situation resolve their issues.
