Question about Command Line Printing Option

Post by CanadianHusky »

Hello,

I have been using command line printing successfully with this pattern
/print[:[default[=yes|no]][;showui[=yes|no [;printer=<printername>] [;pages=<pagesrange>]] <filename1> [<filename2> ... <filenameN>]

But now I would like to have more control over some printing settings.
For Example :
PageScaling :None or FitToMaring or Custom Zoom=xx
AutoRotate: Yes/No
AutoCenter: Yes/No
Select Paper Size by Document Size: Yes/No
Print as Image: Yes/No
Rendering Resolutions etc.
Color Mode: Auto/Color/Grayscale/Mono
Text/Font Rendering Mode:

How can I feed these settings into PDFXChange from the command line ?
Can I write these settings into the Windows Registry somewhere and they will be used when printing from the command line ?
or Can I setup the desired settings manually and use /Exportsettings and /Importsettings from the command line. Are the Printing UI settings stored and honored in the Application settings when printing frmo the Command Line ?

Thank you. Great app!

Hi, CanadianHusky

Currently the Edito can only accept the parameters included in your original pattern above, other settings cannot be set via command line and will need to be changed through the UI manually, and have a single print initiated with them as desired to be remembered for the following prints.

The editor is not designed with batch processing in mind, and as such it simply does not offer as much control when being used in these cases. What I would advise if you are looking to have a handful of different print settings is that you instead look into our dedicated batch processing utility, PDF-Tools, which allows you to create custom tools with predefined settings and access them quickly and easily later on through the command line.
