Spell check: own wordlist selectable?
The Spell Check has also a "Custom wordlist" where I can add and define my special words.
In other programs there is this feature too, but I can select the list like "c:\mydata\my_words.dic" and can use and modify it from different software.
Can it be defined in PDF Edit too?

Hi, Peter2
Yes, we offer a UI solution to modifying your wordlist however. To do this, open the prefernces (Ctrl+K) and look to the plugins category: Kind regards,

Hi Daniel
thanks, but I know "how to create an own list". I want to know "how to select an already existing list from others software"

Re: Spell check: own wordlist selectable?
Hello Peter2,
Those lists might have specific formatting for each individual software so importing a whole list is not something that will always be flawless even If in the majority of cases that would be a plain text list, and we do not seem to offer a feature where you can import more than one word at a time for the moment! I will check with our devs on what can be done in this case!
Kind regards,
Stefan

Re: Spell check: own wordlist selectable?
Hi Stefan
yes, many of the old custom dictionaries had the extension ".dic" or ".cus" and were a simple text list. The import of an existing list would be only a small part of the solution - I'm thinking of a file which can be selected and is dynamically used for reading and writing from different apps.
It's not first priority, but I'm hoping it could be implemented easily.

Hello Peter2,
Thanks for the update! I've asked a colleague already, but as he is in the Canadian office - the update from him will come later in our afternoon.
Kind regards,
Stefan

Re: Spell check: own wordlist selectable?
Hi Peter.
As simple solution - you may open in notepad the file:
c:\Users\<User>\AppData\Roaming\Tracker Software\Common\Dictionaries\Custom.dic
(if file not exists - just create new one)
add directly all custom words you have like:
and save it with UTF-16 LE encoding.

Re: Spell check: own wordlist selectable?
Thanks, Vasyl
that's a good solution for temporary, manual synchronization.
The final step would be - as mentioned above - a free selectable file like "h:\mydata\my_dict_for_all-dic"
Have a good time!

Re: Spell check: own wordlist selectable?
Hello Peter2,
It might be convenient but allowing the use of a shared file has all possible complications, so while we will consider this - I can not make any promises whether it will be implemented.
Kind regards,
Stefan
