I just discovered that PDF Xchange Editor/Viewer have more or less broken my computer. A while ago everything started running outrageously slow and I just now discovered, through trial and error, the cause is PDF Xchange: when I uninstall it, everything's back to normal and running fast. When I reinstall it, everything runs much, much, much slower. The difference is extreme. For example in my file manager, it takes 1 or 2 seconds (maybe less) to open any given folder when PDF Xchange is not installed and anywhere from 5 to 45 seconds with it installed, during which time the file manager is frozen. Other programs are similarly slowed down.
Clearly this is unacceptable. Are Editor/Viewer running in the background and if so how do I make them stop? This all happens regardless of whether I have any pdfs open.
