I am using the typewriter tool to add text to an existing form.
This form has pre-printed boxes for handwritten entries.
What I am looking for is a way to align my typewriter text with these form boxes, perfect would be 'padding' points before / after each character. The only way I have found so far is to have 1 typewriter text box for each individual character.
Thanks for your support, Shaun

Hello Shaun5,
Welcome to our forum.
Is it possible to send us an example file to support@pdf-xchange.com
so we can see what could be done about this particular situation?
Regards.

Re: Typewriter Text font spacing
Hi Dimitar
I've attached a sample file, please let me know if there are any problems reading the file.
For my typewriter text, a fixed width font, such as good old Courier would be used, with optional padding.
Thanks, Shaun

Re: Typewriter Text font spacing
Hello Shaun5,
After placing the Typewriter annotation, you can open the "Properties pane" (Ctrl+`) and adjust the "character spacing" to a percentage. With this document, it seems to be around 25-45% is what you will need for most fields to look nice: Another option, If you hold an Editor plus key and are able to create fillable forms, would be to add Form fields into this document and enable "comb", then set a relevant "character limit" for the box. This would instead automatically determine the distance between each character. I hope this helps!

Hallo Daniel McIntyre
Many many thanks for this tip, Yes, it does work and I have been able to fill in my PDF form.
I know that documentation is always the last to be updated, can this tip be added to PDF-XChange manual, then an index or search will help other users.
Thanks again, Shaun

Hello Shaun,
Thanks for bringing this up to our attention.
Our team that works on the manuals has been informed, and this option will be included in the next revision of the same (which should be live by next week).
Regards,
Stefan
