What is the easiest way to reduce the file size dramatically from exhibition sized posters to email attachment range (?)

Hello NewUser2,

That would be "Save As Optimized" feature:

I hope this helps.

Hello NewUser2,

Let us know the results after that.

Success (!) With 72 dpi, 72 dpi and low quality I could get the largest file of 147 M to 2.09 M, I guess there is no way of knowing what the final size (if you are attempting to go to the range of 2.0 - 2.5 M) will be other than trying out different options (?)

Hi NewUser2,

While it's technically possible, it requires some fairly complex calculations and that you know virtually every variable within the image. For most users (including myself) the best way is just trial and error.

Cheers,

Right, in a perfect world there would be a function on the optimization area where you could choose the final file size
yourself and not deal with the different variables and try to get them to fit your need.

The problem here is that it's not really feasible for us to know all of these variables either, even programmatically, a lot of the time. If we were to do this, what we would provide would be a best guess estimate that, more often than not, would very likely be very accurate. This why no tool that I'm aware of offers such an estimation.

Cheers,

I would take an estimated size funtion very eagerly (!)

I can certainly put a request in, but as with all requests I cannot guarantee its implementation, only that it will be given serious consideration for a future release.

Cheers,
