Editor Word plugin

Hi,

I have a Word document with revision markups which I'd like to keep while converting the file to PDF.

From the PDF-XChange Word plugin ribbon, I enable the following option in Edit Setting -> Word Options -> Convert Revision Markups

But Word Revision Markups dont't convert to annotations/comments in the PDF file.

Dis I miss something ?

Hi Will,

Here's the Word file, and the PDF file generated with XChange plugin from within Word.

I'm using Word 2016 on Window 10, and Editor 8 build 331.

There is 17 Word comments and 2 Insert markups in the Word file.
In the PDF file, I can see the 17 Word comments in pink color, but there is no comments in the Comments Pane in Editor.
And the 2 Insert markups don't show up in the PDF file.

I tried XChange Standard printer, but to no avail.

I also tried again the XChange plugin from within Word with a brand new document, but to no avail.

When you say this is working correctly for you, can you edit the exported Word revision markups as annotations/comments within Editor?

Hello Francois,

Unfortunately not, due to how Microsoft Word handles formatting during this conversion, the comments appear as bas content text, I have attached the output PDF document here so that you can see. This is with all settings other than "convert reveision" in their default values, of the Standard conversion plugin from Word.

Thanks Daniel, you save my day !

Usually I'm using Word revision pane instsead of balloons along the sidebar, so that's why the revision markups didn't show up in the PDF file.

Maybe it can be a good idea to write a small message in Word Options tab in XChange Word plugin to tell the user to activate the right Word markup mode.

For my need, it does not matters that Word markups are exported as PDF comments. At least, I can send the pdf file to a client for approval.
