I have currently licenced Exchange Editor Plus build 8.0 v331.0, but absolutely nowhere can I find instructions on inserting a 3D viewable model into a PDF, even though I know this functionality exists.
The model I want to insert is in .u3d format - that I understand is supposed to be supported.
I have tried the method described for Adobe Acrobat Editor Pro (placing file as a media item), but PDF Exchange Editor Plus simply does not recognize .u3d as a valid file format in its insert media item dialog.
The 'help' functionality for PDF Exchange editor in fairness is about as poor as I have ever encountered for any product, with very few tasks I have ever needed help on being documented (or at least being locatable via search from the pages linked to from help menu ).
A search for '3D' or "u3d' for example produces no results anywhere except in these forums - and in these forums, all that is discussed is a bug - no actual instructions.
It would be great if someone could point me in the right direction.
No instructions locatable for inserting U3D into PDF

Re: No instructions locatable for inserting U3D into PDF
Hi ArchPrime,
Thanks for the post - Currently we only support the viewing of U3D files, but cannot insert 3D media into the file.

With Editor version 8.0.332 (registered, but not Plus version) I can insert U3D files successfully via the top menu,
The process is straightforward.
This is a WONDERFUL feature.
If you are using the (classical) Menu mode:
Tools > Media tools > Add or edit 3D annotations
If you are using the Ribbon mode:
Comment > Add 3D

Hi Angel,
I've been off for a week and missed the internal meeting about the new features, but from what I can see this seems to be a free feature.
Glad you're happy with it!

Thanks, Will
Yes, it seems that adding the 3D Annotation (u3d file) to an existing pdf document is a free feature.
Adding it to a new blank document is only available for the licensed version (due to the creation of a blank document being a pro feature)
