PDF-XChange Editor 7.0 328.1 How to insert pages in filename order

I'm using PDF-XChange Editor 7.0 328.1 and usually insert pages via drag/drop into thumbnail view. If I drag/drop multiple files I expect pages to be inserted according to file name but the order is unknown. I don't know what order it places it in but it is not by filename. Please help.

Hello Nonnie,

And welcome to our forums.
When you drag more than one file - it will be Windows that will determine in which order to pass these along to the Editor, so unfortunately there is no way for us to know or control the order.
So you should e.g. make a new document from your files that you want to drag - and when combining multiple files - you can select the order, and then merge this result with your original document, or drag your files one by one.

Regards,
Stefan

In that case, what is your recommendation if I have to combine 100 individual pdf files in order of file name? I've been inserting one by one into thumbnail view. Sorry if I'm asking the same question but I would like a work around.

Hi Nonnie,

Please the File --> New Document --> Combine Files feature and that should be what you need.

Hi Djo,

Please use the feature mentioned in my previous post. As mentioned above, this isn't something that we or any other application controls and is determined by Windows.

Thanks,
