Feature request: insert page/insert blank page after actual page

Hi! This is my first post here. Sorry if this request already existed. I searched and did not find anything related to it. Sorry for my poor english!

I use PDF-XChange Editor plus to study and often need to insert pages along the file that I´´ m using. Both blank pages and pages from other files option.
My request is simple: could you include the "current page" option in the insert request window as the destination of the new page(s)?

Thanks!

Hi lindermman,

Thanks for the post - If you right click a page in the Thumbnails Pane (Ctrl + T) then use the Insert Pages feature from there, this will default to the page selected in the Thumbnails Pane. Would this be an acceptable workaround?

Cheers,

Hi, Will! Thanks for your response!

Is there no way to do this without the need to open the thumbnails? Use the actual page as the default when use the Insert Pages feature?

Hi lindermman,

No worries!

I'm afraid not at this time. I can certainly pass the suggestion along for consideration though :)

Same request here. This feature is there in Nitro. But I will say that other than that I much prefer PDF Xchange.

Hi! Greetings!

Any idea if/when this feature will be implemented?

Thx for your attention.

Hello lindermman,

I am afraid that for the moment you still need to have a page selected in the Thumbnails pane - as otherwise the auto selection of the 'current' page will not work in the insert pages dialogue.

Also - we can not just 'take' the current page from your viewing area - as it is quite possible that you have e.g. 4 or 6 pages visible in there - if you have say two pages facing mode and have zoomed out so that 3 sets of two pages are visible at the same time:
multiple_pages_vsible.png
And even if it's just single page continuous - at 100% - it is not possible to decide which of the two pages in this view is the 'current' one:
two_pages.png
So that is why you still need to have explicitly made a selection in the thumbnails pane for this to work.

Regards,
Stefan

you could default to the page no. showing in the page field at bottom of screen, or just bring it into the insert after field as the initial value for user to edit if desired.

Hi all,

+1 for adding a "Current page" option in the destination options of the "Insert Pages" dialog.

I would use this on a daily basis.

With respect to the determination of what the "current page" is, I would suggest to handle this in the same way as for example in the Resize/Cut/Delete/Split/OCR pages dialogs -- where in all cases a "Current page" option is available (without having to open and use the thumbnail pane).

By the way, there is a related thread about a closely related, open issue already here.

Cheers
David

+1, and in the previous post David referred to, I suggested adding Current Page to Insert Scanned Pages also.

Thanks.

Hello David P and Arnold,

I am passing this along to the UI dev team for consideration. If there is a "Current page" for other things like e.g. Crop Pages - I presume the logic can be reused!

Cheers,
Stefan

Hi, lindermman

Currently there has been no new progress on this request. It is considered low priority at the moment while we are developing our accessibility compatibility improvements. This item may see another increase in priority if it has not yet been implemented by the release of version 9, but until then I cannot make any promises.

Kind regards,
