1) is it possible to adjust the width of the tabs to the length of the filename?

2) Is it possible to display the table bar multiline?

Sorry, I missed that!
Sadly no, it is not currently possible, it is unlikely to become an option as most users are asking for more vertical space, and such an option would reduce it. However I will mention it for you, just to stir up discussion on the topic.
