Hello Sherrinav,

To convert a PDF within the Editor to a Word document, simply navigate to the Convert tab, and click to MS-Word:

Note that for the resulting word document to be editable, the PDF document itself must be editable before conversion.

I hope this helps!

I don't have organize or convert tab as an option.

I did just update also thinking that may be the problem.

If neither of these tabs appear, you may be in classic UI, un which case the export functions are available under File > Export

Alternatively, If the options do not appear, likely you have enabled the "hide licensed features" check box and do not have a valid license key entered. You will need a valid license key in place to create an editable document in any Office format, as conversion is a premium feature.

As another option, you can also reset the toolbars, to restore everything to view, to do this click on File/Edit > Manage settings > Reset Settings. After this all you toolbars should reset and the convert toolbar should appear and be fully populated.

I'm dusting off this old topic because I have the same issue. I don't have a Convert tab. When I go to File > Export, I only get two choices:

Export to Images
Export to Microsoft PowerPoint Presentation

I get no option to export to Word. What am I missing here?

Also, I verified that I have a valid license key and "hide licensed features" is NOT checked.

Hello Shaky,

Can I ask what build of the editor you are running? You can check this by clicking help > about. If it is not build 331, please try updating and let me know if these options become available.

Kind regards,

I'm on version 6, build 317.

If updating is the answer, I'll have to put this on hold. Every time we update PDF XChange Editor, we experience new issues that have to be resolved to get back to work. Right now what we have is stable and working, so I'll wait until I have time to deal with it if the update disrupts our workflow again.

Thanks.

Hi Shaky,

Thanks for the info. - These options were not implemented until a later release, so I'm afraid that the only thing we can suggest would be the update.

Thanks,
