Printing a document with a custom stamp
I created a transparent gif file and used it to make a custom stamp of my signature. Using the (excellent) printing interface from the PDF-XChange Editor, printing used to work as expected but recently the signature has begun to print on a black background instead of a transparent background. I have not altered the stamp I created several years ago. Any ideas, team?

Hello vesper,
Have you changed any of the printing settings?
Please try with "Print as Images" - and see if that produces the correct result on paper.
Regards,
Stefan

Re: Printing a document with a custom stamp
{edited to add a signature line to the original (unstamped) pdf}
I have done some further sleuthing and created a pdf with two pseudo signatures (transparent stamps), one created from a transparent gif, and the other created from a transparent png file. Here are the results:
PDF with transparent stamps: Image of PDF-XChange rendering of above pdf: Image of XChange editor print dialog: Source files to create the stamp: The original jpg file (non-transparent): The 'transparent' gif: and the transparent png: My "transparent" gif file seems to be the culprit, even though it looks normal when I view it with IrfanView. So MY workaround is to get rid of my gif files and produce stamps from png's, but I wonder why XChange is no longer working, ah, 'properly' with my original stamp (created from a gif)...

And I DID also try the 'print as image' suggestion, and yes that does produce a correct printout. Thanks, Stefan!
BUT... This turns out to not be a terrific idea because a major reason to sign a pdf is so the signed pdf can be emailed to someone so THEY can print it. I don't print and snail mail often anymore...

Re: Printing a document with a custom stamp
Hello Vesper,
I've asked a colleague in the dev team to take a look at your file and advise why the behaviour has changed.
If you can in the mean time please do try to make a .png version of your signature.
Also - if you just add your stamp and then e.g. flatten all comments in the file - you can send it to someone else without the need to "print" it first yourself to PDF again.
Regards,
Stefan

The issue is fixed in build 328 which we expect to be released on December 10th.
