Hi
I am trying to crop an SRA4 PDF to standard A4 for post processing and printing, with X-Change Editor. The cropped PDF page, however, is being shifted half an inch right and up when prepared for printing. When examining the PDF structure it is clear the Bleed, Media, Trim, Art and Crop boxes are being incorrectly (mis)calculated by X-Change Editor with a horizontal and vertical 'shift' being included in the positioning attributes e.g. /CropBox [29.503723 29.50412 624.779297 871.393921]. (see 'miscalc' image attachment).
However, when using Adobe Acrobat Pro to Crop the page, the resized boxes are calculated correctly e.g. e.g. /CropBox [0 0 595.276 841.89] (which is A4 size in points). (see image 'Correct_Adobe').
I am using the CROP method 'Manual Margin Control' applied to the Crop Box (and all other Boxes), and have also tried all variations . I am removing the Content, and tried selecting (and not selecting) adjusting the size of the media box to the Crop Box..... All produce the same results.
Any idea where, and why it is going wrong?
TIA
Andrew

Hello Andrew,
Can we get a copy of the original file and the cropped result that you created with both our Editor and Adobe so that we can run some tests here at our end?
Regards,
Stefan

Re: Crop to A4 isn't correctly calculated
Hello osiris,
Thanks for the sample files!
When you use the "Crop" tool in the Editor - it will change the crop mask on the page, and can also remove any content outside of the crop area - but the original page dimensions will not be affected: If you however use the Document -> Resize Pages (either before or after the crop. After might be needed if the cropped area is not symmetric to the center) - then the actual page will be resized to the new dimensions.
Please see the attached PDF which I created using the "Resize" feature in the Editor.
Regards,
Stefan

Re: Crop to A4 isn't correctly calculated
Hi Stefan
The PDF is still incorrect - it is still showing the Offset dimensions which causes the PDF to be re positioned when merged and printed. (see attached dump of the PDF you sent compared to the ADOBE version of the dump also attached).
Cheers
Andy

Re: Crop to A4 isn't correctly calculated
The Editor crops the page absolutely correctly, at least in conformance with the PDF Specification.
Page boxes do not have to have an origin (0, 0), and all applications should handle such boxes in a proper way.
