Orientation of the guide lines

Currently it seems to be that the guide lines (horizontal) are not orientate by the ruler. When i add a horizonal line it is orientate by the left upper corner and not by the left bottom corner like the ruler. That's very confusing.

Hello Daniel,

You have probably enabled bottom-up axis.

Please click on this menu and remove the tick on the "Bottom-Up Axis":

That's true, though, the question is: shouldn't auxiliary lines be oriented to the orientation of the ruler?

Hello Daniel,

Do you mean that when you add a guide line and you set it to start from 0, she starts from the other end and not from the 0?

Regards.

When I add an auxiliary line, I orient myself by the ruler displayed. So if I add a horizontal auxiliary line with 20 millimeters I would expect this starting from the 0|0 point of the ruler (the coordinate origin). If it is located in the upper left corner, then the auxiliary line is inserted from the upper edge of the page with a border of 20 millimeters. If the coordinate origin of the ruler is at the bottom left (because the orientation of the y-axis was changed, see the above described setting), then I would expect the user to insert the line starting from the bottom edge, because the coordinate origin of the ruler is there. Otherwise the ruler would hardly make sense, because it works like a coordinate system.

Best regards

Daniel

Hello Daniel,
I have created a feature request for you on this matter:
RT#4516
For the moment, I cannot give a timeline, or guarantee it will be implemented, only that it will be seriously considered.
Best Regards!

Hello, greetings!
What happened to this request? ItĀ“ is not on December list of implementations or on the followings as reported! Is there any forecast for when it will be executed?

Hello Lindermman,

This is already present and fully functional, Apologies that we missed listing it in our Build history!

To make use of it, simply right click on the Rulers, to enable Botton-Up Y Axis:

Then Right click again and choose to add new guides, in the window that appears, you can specify horizontal or vertical guides, and how far apart to place them. Unlike before, When using Horizontal guides with Bottom-Up Y axis enabled, the guides are properly placed from the bottom up.

Kind regards,

oooh... nice! Thanks!
But a new request: why coordinates (https://help.pdf-xchange.com/pdfxe ... =transform) only works with 0 point on the botton of the page?
If I not use botton-up Y axis, 0 will be at the top of the page, but X/Y coordinates still works with 0 at the botton of the page. This couldnĀ“ t be sincronized?

Sorry for my poor english!

Hello Lindermman,

These are unfortunately separate items. PDF natively uses Bottom up coordinates for all content items, and that is what the arrange functions display. Unfortunately we cannot change this as it would break no small number of things if the wrong value was stored for an item and another software opened the document in that state.

Kind regards,
