Change Background Color? Or, High Contrast?

Post by standish-001 »

Hi,

Is there any way to switch the background color of a document to black and text to white?

Or, alternatively, any kind of High Contrast option for reading files?

Many thanks,

SW

Hi standish-001,

Thanks for the post - You should be able to achieve what you want using File --> Preferences -- Accessibility and playing with the Override Document Colors option.

HTH!
If posting files to this forum, you must archive the files to a ZIP, RAR or 7z file or they will not be uploaded.
Thank you.

Hi,

That WORKS!!!! Completely!

Leaves just one challenge: highlighting. Any way to configure highlighting so it becomes visible if using black background on white text?

Thanks!

Hello standish-001,

Highlight annotations are normally with a "Multiply" blend mode. This means that it will add the colour you selected on top of any underlying ones - and when your background is black already - the result is an invisible highlight.
You can try to change the blending mode to e.g. "Difference" - but this will look OK only on your machine and until you turn accessibility off. On another machine where someone does not have accessibility on - this highlight will look very strange.

So the 'trade off' could be to use a custom background colour (e.g. dark grey) - so that highlights still remain visible with the normal "Multiply" blend mode.

Regards,
Stefan
