PDFXedit v7 is it possible to change Clip region of images

Hi,
I'm some time facing images that are trunc in pdf (aligned with the right margin of the page)
and would like to see either or not it is possible to change image clipping region ?
(I discovered that when editing images all content is there in painting tool and instead of
printing in pdf from that painting tool, a manual resize or tha page followed by a change
of clipping region could be a good idea).

Is that possible ?
Regards
Bernard

Hello Bernhard,

Would it be possible to see one such file - so that we can get a better understanding of the situation?

Regards,
Stefan

Enclosed!
If you click the image and edit it using you pref tool, you will see that you have whole content.
After enlarging the page, I would like to be able to modify image clipping region so that to
get it fully displayed on the page.
Regards
Bernard

BTW: I could of course replace the image by the one saved from the painting tool but
i'm looking for something more friendly directly from within PDF Editor.

Hello Bernard,
Ive spoken with the dev team on this and it seems that while modifying the clipping area in the Editor is not yet possible, You can certainly remove the clipping entirely, simply right click on the image and choose Remove clip

We are working on this feature for the future, So while I have no timeline for it, do know we are working to bring it in!
I hope this helps!

Great!
If I can add a suggestion for future releases, would be to be possible changing the visible part within
existing cliping region. I imagine clicking on the image with a keyboard modifier key pressed then
moving the image so that to change what should be visible. Let consider you want to recenter
image on specific part.
Thank again.

Bernard

Just for information:

1) It seems like the "Remove Clip" option has been add to the shortcut menu, starting from version 7 build 326.1
In older versions this option is missing.

2) What is being meant here by "clipping" is mostly called "cropping" in other applications.

Best Regards.

Hello Willy,

Thanks for the input there, You are correct that it is a recent addition to the shortcut menu.

I called it clipping as, while it is usually called cropping, this issue does not pertain to the crop function offered within the Editor, and I wanted to ease confusion. As the function in the list says "remove clip", I thought that would be a good term to stick with.

Hi,

Beside doing things using mouse,
Having access to those parameters in properties panel (clipping / cropping rectangle
along offset from uper left corner) of the image would be great as well.

BTW: From my side, the term "clip" came from time I developped under MacOS.

Bernard
