Adding a Signature Field For Others to Sign PDF

I am running PDF X-Change Editor 6 and looking to upgrade. I need the ability to add a signature field to a PDF and then have other people sign it (so I send a PDF of a contract to a client and they sign it using their PDF reader). Is that a feature that the software supports? The only options that I see are for me to add a digital signature field and then sign it myself.

Welcome to our forums.
You will need to upgrade to an Editor Plus License, and you will then be able to use the Form tools that come with the Plus license, and one of those is to add an empty signature field for others to fill in at their end:

Quick question:
I don't need the signing feature but I would like to get familiar with it.
I found these two links below about "PDF Digital Signatures" and I am wondering if
these tutorials are still up-to-date before "studying" them.I know that the XChange Viewer
is out dated. I am only interested in the signing process.

Hi Stefan,
thanks for the links.Unfortunately the information given in those links "only" tell users how to apply signatures
but I liked the idea that the older tutorials explain how hash sums are created, public and private keys are being used etc
I just want to know how all this stuff work together.

Admittedly:I only took a quick look.So maybe I have to dig a bit deeper.
