Converting PDF Files.

Post by gateinsaat »

Hello everyone,

Previously we been using Acrobat Professional to convert some pdf files which is coming from our contractor to Excel.
Because of high price and working slow we decided to use PDF xchange editor. And we bought considerable licence of Pdf xchange.

But we have got a problem about converting excel files from PDF. Here in attachment you can see type of pdf files we were converting before with Acrobat Pro without any problem.

Now when using PDF Xchange convert tool we are having completely not correct file. (in zip file you can find)

So, is there any solution for kind of problems? What to do? I really don't wanna buy Acrobat Pro anymore. Please say me that you have a solution for this :)

Have a good day.
Thanks.

Hello gateinsaat,

I've checked your file and I see that the large table there consists of small images - there is no text there whatsoever. Thus the expected result when exporting to Excel.
What you can try is doing the OCR first and then do the export to Excel.
As for the Acrobat - it did not recognize these images - just thrown them inside of the Excel as is.

Cheers,
Alex

Sasha, thank you very much for your answer. Actually before when we were using Acrobat I had no this kind of feedback from my users.
Also there is also a problem about scanned files. We can't edit texts inside of scanned pdf files.

Hello gateinsaat,

Well that's our way of treating our customers. Furthermore, sometimes you even can get a reply from the developer directly (me for example) and see whether this or that feature/bug will be fixed/implemented - we do respect our customer thoughts.
As for your question, we have a vast knowledge base that you can try searching and find many answers for your needs:
