One or more XREF chunks were not found

Hello,

With PDF-XChange Editor V7 build 325.1 (or a previous V6 version) I make a new blank document.
In this new PDF I insert a Microsoft Outlook 2016 mail message (MSG file) with an attached PDF file.
I am doing this via the Attachments pane in PDF-XChange Editor (via New... or via drag-and-drop, makes no difference).

Now, when I double click the MSG file in the Attachments pane (still in PDF-XChange Editor), there is a red banner showing up at the top:
"Problems were detected. You may save a copy to correct them. / Show Problem Details / Save As..."

The attached PDF in the mail is immediately opened, instead of the mail itself.

When I click onto "Show Problem Details...", there is a pop-up window:
The following problems were detected in the document:
- One or more XREF chunks were not found
Close

REMARKS:
1) When I save the PDF with the attached mail (with attached PDF), and I open this in Adobe Reader XI there is no problem.
In Adobe Reader, when I open the Attachment pane and double click the attached mail, it opens in Microsoft Outlook and the attached PDF is there.
2) When I attach a mail with an attached Word file (instead of a PDF file), this opens correctly with PDF-XChange Editor too.
So the problem is only with mails with attached PDFs.

I do see the issue here, and have created a bug report for the matter.

I hope you have documented the whole story in the ticket #4379:"Attached files do not open appropriate app", because:
- when the attached file is nothing more than a MSG file without attachments, it opens correctly
- when the attached file is a MSG file with a Word attachment, it opens correctly
- when the attached file is a MSG file with a PDF attachment, it goes wrong
- maybe it also goes wrong with other attachments (something up to your developer colleagues to verify)

Can you please confirm that ?

I had detailed the specific issue with that one file in it, and how while it was an eml file it would not correctly open the mail client for viewing.
I will however add this post into the notes for you, as this will save the development team a bit of testing. Thank you once again!
