OCR

Hi,

I have found the OCR command and options box. When the OCR is finished, is another document made? I just test OCRed a page and nothing happened. I was expecting a word document or similar. In short, OCR does not seem to do anything here. Good chance operator error.

Hello DrTeeth,
The OCR function has two options, one is to add a text layer to the current document, the other is to create a new document with the results:

Effectively they perform the same operation, only one does it on the current document, and the other duplicates it.

Once the OCR process is done, an invisible text layer is appended above the images, allowing you to copy/highlight/etc that text.

Hi Daniel,

I cannot edit any text after the OCR process. Either option just leaves me with the apparently unchanged page or a non-editable copy of the pade. What am I missing here?

The text is currently invisible, To edit that content you will need to make some changes to the document, this KB article will help with that process:
