1. Is there a direct or an easy way to insert the File Name (without path and without extension) into a bookmark?

Or as a workaround:
2. Is there a direct or an easy way to insert the File Name (without path and without extension) into the Document Title field?
3. Is there a direct or an easy way to insert the Document Title into a bookmark?

Thanks for any tips,

Hello evd,

I do believe we have this function under the "add text" button in the bookmarks tab.

This should work for your purposes, please let us know if it does not.

Hi Daniel,

Thanks for your quick reply.
Your solution answers my third question.
The first and second questions remains:
1. how to get the File Name directly into a bookmark?
2. how to get the File Name into the Document Title?
(apart from copying and pasting it manually)

Maybe a new command "File Name" can be added to the list of macro commands to add a prefix or suffix to the bookmark title.

Regards,
Ed

Hello evd,

Sorry for the delay on those two,
The bookmarks dialog should respond to the same macros as the other fields that cn take them, so I am not sure why the %[FileName] Macro is not currently in the dropdown list. But simply pasting it in to this same window should give you the desired effect.

As for changing the title to the filename, currently the only method I know of is to copy and paste as youve said.

Have a great day!

Hi Daniel,

I tried your suggestion and it turns out that the %[FileName] Macro can not be used in the Bookmarks dialog.

Hi again,
Ive been speaking with the devs on this, it seems that the bookmarks plugin uses its own set of macros. Ive asked them if it is possible to implement a few more of the other macros into these options.
I cannot give a timeline, but it looks like they are going to try to get them in there for you!

Hello Evd,
I am sorry to say that no progress has been made on that front yet. As with any feature request, I cannot guarantee it will be implemented, but instead considered in due time. Currently much development time is focused on larger features such as 3D compatibility.
Best Regards.
